IC 2593 is a galaxy of Hubble type S: in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 689 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter. It is considered to be a member of the seven-galaxy NGC 3313 group ( LGG 209 ), but it is too far away for that.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3296 and NGC 3297 .
The object was discovered on April 10, 1899 by Herbert Alonzo Howe .
