IC 2590 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 281 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with PGC 31406 .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 2598 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 28, 1903 .
