IC 4548 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Corona Borealis in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 871 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 75,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 4546 and IC 4547 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 24, 1895 .
