IC 4547 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Corona Borealis in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 466 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 95,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 4546 and IC 4548 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 22, 1895 .
