IC 4546 is a bar-spiral galaxy with a high rate of star formation of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Corona Borealis in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 467 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 95,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 4547 and IC 4548 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 24, 1895 .
