IC 4973 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Peacock on southern sky . It is estimated to be 510 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxy IC 4980 is located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on October 3, 1901 .
