IC 4985 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 193 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light-years across.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 6877 , NGC 6880 , IC 4981 , IC 4982 , among others .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on September 21, 1900 .
