IC 4967 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E1 in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 179 million light years from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years across. She is considered a member of the ten galaxies counting NGC 6876 group ( LGG 432 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6872 , IC 4960 , IC 4970 , IC 4971 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on September 21, 1900 .
