IC 4999 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Capricornus on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 144 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
Together with NGC 6907 and IC 5005 , it forms the NGC 6907 group or LGG 436 .
The object was discovered by Edward Emerson Barnard .
