NGC 6907 is a spiral infrared galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Capricorn on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 145 million light years from the Milky Way and about 145,000 light years in diameter.
Together with NGC 6908 , it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair . With IC 4999 and IC 5005 it forms the NGC 6907 group or LGG 436
The supernovae SN 1984V (type?), SN 2004bv ( type Ia ), SN 2008fq (type II) and SN 2014eh (type Ic) were observed here.
The object was discovered on July 12, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
