NGC 6922 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation of eagles in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 260 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 6926 and NGC 6929 are located in the same area of the sky .
The type Ib / c supernova SN 2010il was observed here.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on July 24, 1863 .
