NGC 6926 is an active bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBc / P in the constellation Eagle in the northern sky . It is an estimated 269 million light years away from the Milky Way and is approximately 155,000 light years in diameter . Together with NGC 6929 , it forms the galaxy pair Holm 781 .
The galaxy NGC 6922 is still located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on July 21, 1784 .
