NGC 6929 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Eagle in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 282 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter . Together with NGC 6926 , it forms the galaxy pair Holm 781 .
The galaxy NGC 6922 is still located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on July 21, 1827 .
