NGC 6906 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Eagle in the northern sky . It is an estimated 224 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter . The galaxy may form a gravitationally bound galaxy pair with NGC 6901 .
Together with PGC 64638 and PGC 64652 it forms the small NGC 6906 group or LGC 435 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on August 15, 1863 .
