NGC 6887 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble-type SBbc in the constellation Pendulum Clock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 119 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 4983 , IC 4984 , IC 4987 , IC 4995 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on July 24, 1835 .
