NGC 6881 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Swan in the northern sky , which is an estimated 6,000 light years from the solar system. It consists of an inner nebula, about a fifth light-year across, and a symmetrical structure, about a light-year from tip to tip. In the center of the object is a dying star with about 60 percent of the mass of our sun .
The nebula was discovered by Edward Charles Pickering on November 25, 1881 .
