NGC 6875 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type I / SB0 in the telescope at the southern sky . It is estimated to be 139 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 4956 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on June 1, 1834 .
