ISO 3166-2: SD

The list of ISO-3166-2 codes for Sudan contains the codes for the 17 states ( Arabic ولايات wilāyāt ).

The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for Sudan SD), the second the code for the federal state.

The current country code was last updated on November 2015.

The current codes are available on the ISO website under #iso: code: 3166: SD .

In 2007 the state of Gharb Kurdufan with the code SD-10was removed from the list due to a modification of the administrative structure. In 2015 the re-established state received an ISO code again, now SD-GK.

As of 2011, ten states formed the now independent South Sudan ( ISO 3166-2: SS ). With Newsletter II-3, this change was adjusted in 2011 and the subcodes restructured.
