The Ikarus Festival 2018 "Forest Stage"

The Ikarus Festival is a music festival of electronic dance music that has been held annually in Memmingerberg (near Memmingen ) since 2015 . In 2018 it was visited by more than 35,000 guests and 96 artists from all over the world performed.

history

The Ikarus Festival took place for the first time on June 5th and 6th, 2015 at a former military airport, which is adjacent to the premises of Memmingen Airport . The name comes from Icarus , a figure from Greek mythology. According to their own statements, the organizers wanted a name "that everyone has heard of, but cannot necessarily imagine anything more precise."

The 2020 festival had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany .

structure

The visitors can choose between 6 stages, which are differentiated by location, design and genre. Different electronic styles are covered, from house to techno, to Goa and electro. 4 of these 6 stages are in halls, 3 are old flying hangars ("Hade", "Onos" and "Medusa") and another in the circus tent "Minos Tent". The area is surrounded by the international airport Memmingen and forest pieces.
