Iman Essa Jasim ( Arabic إيمان عيسى جاسم, DMG Īmān ʿĪsā Ǧāsim ; * July 9, 1997 as Endurance Essien Udoh ) is a Bahraini sprinter of Nigerian origin.

Athletic career

For the first time at an international championship, Iman Essa Jasim competed at the 2015 Arab Championships in Manama . There she won the bronze medal in the 100 meter run and was fourth in the 200 meters. In October she was sixth over 100 meters at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, and won the bronze medal with the Bahraini 4-by-400-meter relay. In 2016 she won the gold medal with the relay at the Asian Indoor Championships and did not take part in the individual competition in the final. She then won the gold medal in the 400-meter run and silver over 100 meters at the Arab Junior Championships in Tlemcen . So she qualified for the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she reached seventh place in the final over 100 meters with 11.60 s. With the relay she was disqualified in advance. She also qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated with 11.72 s in the run .

In 2017 she won gold in the relay at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and finished sixth over 100 meters. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where she won the 4-by-100-meter relay and won the silver medal with the 4-by-400 relay behind the Indian team. In the individual competition over 400 meters she reached seventh place in the final. The following year she won the silver medal over 100 meters at the Arab Championships in Cairo in 12.08 s and won the relay in 45.18 s. Shortly afterwards she won the Asian Championships in Doha in 3: 32.10 minutes with the 4 x 400 meter relay and won the bronze medal behind the teams from China and Kazakhstan in the short sprint relay in 43.61 seconds. In addition, she finished sixth in the 100-meter run in 11.55 s.
