Quách Thị Lan (born October 18, 1995 in Thanh Hóa ) is a Vietnamese sprinter and hurdler who specializes in the 400-meter distance .

Athletic career

Quách Thị Lan gained her first experience in international competitions at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw , where she won the silver medal in the 400-meter run behind Thai Treewadee Yongphan in 53.38 seconds , as well as in the hurdles with 58.93 seconds behind Wassana Winatho from Thailand. In addition, she also won the silver medal behind Thailand with the relay with a new national record of 3: 36.92 minutes. The following year she took part for the first time in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , where she won the silver medal in the 400-meter run behind Bahraini Kemi Adekoya in 52.06 seconds , while she finished fifth in the relay in 3: 33.20 minutes occupied. In 2015, she finished fourth in the 200-meter run at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 23.98 s and won the silver medal over 400 meters in 52.52 s behind her compatriot Nguyễn Thị Huyền . In addition, she won the season with a new player record of 3: 31.46 min. In 2016 she won the bronze medal over 400 meters at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha behind the Bahraini Adekoya and Elina Michina from Kazakhstan.

At the Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar in 2017 , she originally won the silver medal in the 400-meter run behind Indian Nirmala Sheoran in 52.78 seconds and also with the relay she first won the silver medal in 3: 33.22 minutes behind India. In 2018, however, the Indian Sheoran was convicted of doping and the gold medals were awarded to Quách and the Vietnamese team. Over 200 meters she was eliminated in the preliminary round with a new personal best of 23.86 & nbsop; s. Then she won the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in 3: 33.40 min with the relay. In 2018 she again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where she won the silver medal in the 400-meter hurdles behind Kemi Adekoya with a new Vietnamese record of 55.30 seconds. The following year, Adekoya was stripped of the gold medal for a doping offense and awarded to Quách. Over 200 meters she reached the final and was eighth there with 23.77 seconds and with the 4 x 400 meter relay she won the bronze medal behind the teams from India and Bahrain in 3: 33.23 minutes. In the following year she won the Asian Championships in Doha in 56.10 s in the 400-meter hurdles and finished fifth in the relay in 3: 37.27 min. In December she won the bronze medal over 400 meters behind her compatriot Nguyễn and the Thai Chinenye Onuorah at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in 53.95 seconds . In the hurdles she also had to admit defeat to Nguyễn in 57.39 s, but won the women's relay in 3: 34.64 min and in the mixed relay in 3: 19.50 min.

In 2012 Quách became Vietnamese champion over 400 meters flat and over the hurdles. She graduated from Bac Ninh Sports University . Her brother Quách Công Lịch is also active as a track and field athlete.
