Manjeet Kaur

Manjeet Kaur (born April 4, 1982 ) is a former Indian sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

On June 16, 2004, she set the current national record in Chennai with 51.05 s.

At the 2004 Olympic Games , she was used in the run-up to the 4 x 400 meter relay . Together with K. Matthews Beenamol , Chitra K. Soman and Rajwinder Kaur , she set a national record with 3: 26.89 minutes. In the final she was replaced by Satti Geetha .

In 2005 in Incheon she was Asian champion. In 2006 she was seventh in the individual competition at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and won silver with the Indian 4-by-400-meter relay. At the Asian Games in Doha , she won silver in the individual competition and gold in the relay.

In 2008 she retired with the Indian 4 x 400 meter relay at the Olympic Games in Beijing in the preliminary run. At the Asian Championships in Guangdong in 2009 she won bronze. In 2010 she won the Indian 4-by-400-meter relay at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi and at the Asian Games in Guangzhou .

In 2012, the Indian National Anti-Doping Agency initiated proceedings against her for repeatedly evading a doping test . The agency decided not to impose the suspension that was actually due for this violation of the doping regulations after the athlete announced her resignation from the sport.
