Pulkautal initiative

The Pulkautal initiative is a small region in Lower Austria consisting of six communities in the Hollabrunn district , which is managed by NÖ.Regional.GmbH .

History and goals

In 1993 the small region Pulkautal was founded and since the development of a small regional development concept it has been focusing on tourism , agriculture , economy , life in the region, organization and community cooperation. The Pulkautal initiative is managed by an association to which the mayors of all six municipalities belong.

The Pulkautal small region is a climate and energy model region and deals with potential savings for energy in the public, private and commercial sectors, demand-oriented public transport, awareness-raising through networking and involvement of the population, feasibility analysis and implementation support for renewable energy ( biomass , sun , wind , water ) in the Pulkautal, citizen participation models for the participation of the population in regional energy production, strengthening of regional added value by maintaining purchasing power in the region, integrating the population into the individual projects and setting up a consulting and development center.

Through the NÖ.Regional.GmbH, large amounts of funding flowed into the small region, with which, for example, in the cellar lanes could be set as the renovation of this unique cultural asset, taking into account the economic necessity.

A project funded by the Pulkautal initiative is called “On Simon Polt's Footsteps”, with which hikers and cyclists should be given the opportunity to explore the Pulkau Valley landscape in the footsteps of Simon Polt and thus to revitalize Contribute to tourism and business. The locations of the Polt films, which are equipped with display boards, can be visited. The cultural aspect is taken into account by the fact that the author of the Polt crime novels, Alfred Komarek , reads from his works at the individual refreshments.
