Melktal

The Melktal is a small region on the Melk at the transition from the Wachau to the Mostviertel south of the Danube in Lower Austria . The Melktal consists of four communities:

The Melktal is located in these four municipalities, together they cover an area of ​​131.61 km² and have a total of 8546 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The Melktal lies in the political districts of Melk and Scheibbs .

As part of the Melktal region, there is cross-community cooperation on the basis of a small-region strategy as well as joint events and initiatives, such as the Melktal music band, the Melktal gardening days or the annual classic car meeting.
