Here are vocal ensembles presented from different countries at different venues such diverse styles such as classical , jazz , old music, contemporary pop or example, nostalgic pop.

history

The idea for the International A cappella week in Hanover came from the singers of the model Andante quintet , whose virtuosos emerged from the Hanover boys' choir . The five presented their suggestion to their boy choir friend Roger Cericius , who organized the first week of the festival in 2001 together with Sandra van de Loo from the CESA Events agency. The Friends of Hanover under the chairman at the time, opera director Hans-Peter Lehmann , the Toto-Lotto Niedersachsen company and VGH insurance were among the sponsors from the very beginning . In addition to numerous large companies as sponsors , the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung and Radio 3 were won as media partners, while the then Chancellor's wife Doris Schröder-Köpf took over the patronage . During the first international a cappella week in Hanover, seven well-known ensembles from four different countries performed, including internationally known ones such as the Swingle Singers and The King's Singers .

The first venues in 2001 were only inner-city facilities in Hanover such as the Schauspielhaus , the Kreuzkirche , the theater in the Künstlerhaus , the Markuskirche or the large broadcasting hall of the North German Broadcasting Corporation on the Maschsee .

In the following year 2002, CESA Events, Sandra van de Loo and Roger Cericius , who later became chairman of the organizer Lausch Kultur Hannover eV, organized the first performances in the Hanover region, for example in the St. Osdag Church in Mandelsloh or the Landestrost Castle in Neustadt am Rübenberge .

In 2006 the association Lauschkultur Hannover eV, based in Hanover, became a non-profit sponsor of the International A-cappella Week Hanover.

In 2013, in addition to the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media , the Faust cultural center , the Theater am Aegi or the square in front of the Marktkirche , more distant venues were also included, such as St. Martin's Church in Bennigsen , Landestrost Castle or Loccum Monastery .
