Not only were the ecological influences interpreted and processed using the means of art , but social and artistic systems were also included. The exchange between artists, curators, environmental and forest scientists during the public conference in the Jagdschloss Kranichstein bundled the energy and served to expand the horizon of knowledge and experience.

Joan Backes "Forest House", 2012
Anne Berlit "Castle in the Air", 2012

" Reality and Romanticism" 2012 deals with the importance of the forest between romantic ideas and real conditions of nature, the environment and sustainability . The forest on the outskirts of the city, as a local recreation area and “ green lung ”, is used extensively and offers a refuge . Romantic places in the forest have aroused the imagination for centuries, as with the romantic poets. The “romantic forest” is a place between forestry and local recreation, a place of transition and pause, a historical source and the survival strategy of the future. The 18 artists came from 8 countries: Italy, Japan , Korea, Poland , Romania, Hungary , USA and Germany.

7th International Forest Art Path "Art Biotopes"

Ri Eung Woo "The Big Wheel", 2014
Tim Norris "Habitat", 2014

The living environment, the environment and nature conservation play a major role in this. Biotopes are the smallest units of the biosphere. This idea from nature conservation is to be transferred to art. Artists will create “art biotopes” in the forest and conduct artistic field research. The concept of sustainability and sustainable art has been a basic requirement for artistic work in the forest for many years. This time the 21 artists come from 11 countries: Bulgaria, China, Ivory Coast , France , Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Korea, the Netherlands, Austria , Sweden and Germany.

This time the 22 artists come from 13 countries: Argentina, Belgium , Finland, France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Mexico , the Netherlands, Austria, Russia , the USA and Germany.
