Irmgard Düren

Irmgard Düren , b. Schmidt (born October 28, 1930 in Meiningen ; † August 24, 2004 in Berlin ) was an actress, cabaret artist and TV presenter in the GDR .

Life

Irmgard was born in 1930 as the daughter of the head of the criminal police in Meiningen, southern Thuringia. In 1946/47 she graduated from the drama school in Schwerin . She then made her acting debut in Ludwigslust . In the 1950s Düren appeared in the Berlin cabaret " Die Distel ". From 1960 to 1975 she presented the show Wünsch Dir was every Sunday afternoon , which was later renamed Der Wunschbriefkasten and is still designed in a similar form by the MDR today. After the termination of her contract with television, she completed a distance learning course in philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin and took over the company radio studio of the Berlin Centrum department store at Ostbahnhof. Until the fall of the Berlin Wall , she designed programs for cultural institutions and worked as a speaker teacher and voice actress .

Düren was married to the actor Fred Düren from 1949 to 1954 . In 1994 she married her long-term partner, the doctor Johann-Georg Kämpfer. After his death, she was married to the former NVA officer Klaus Nodes from August 2003.
