Irsing is a district of the town of Traunreut in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein . The hamlet with church is located west of the Traun near Sankt Georgen bei Traunreut and has only 19 inhabitants.

Irsing is not to be confused with the church village of Ising, just 6.5 km away as the crow flies .

history

The church of St. Johannes Baptist in Irsing is originally a single-nave late Gothic church from the second half of the 15th century, which was extended to a three-aisled structure around 1600. It is a branch church of the parish of Sankt Georgen. At the time of the Duchy of Bavaria, Irsing was part of the Haßmoning main team . As part of the community education in Bavaria, it came with the municipality edict of 1818 for rural community Haßmoning. On May 1, 1926, Haßmoning was incorporated into the Stein an der Traun community ; On May 1, 1978, the municipality was incorporated into Traunreut.
