The Jewish community in Neunkirchen , a district of Bad Mergentheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg , was founded in the 16th and 17th centuries. Century and existed until 1878.

The Jewish community Neunkirchen existed since the 16./17. Century up to its dissolution in September 1878. For the first time in 1523 Jews were named locally. The Jewish community owned the Neunkirchen synagogue , a Jewish school and a ritual bath . The community's dead were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Unterbalbach. A separate teacher was employed by the community who also worked as Chasan and Shochet .

In 1832 the Jewish community of Neunkirchen was merged with the Jewish community of Mergentheim and the members of both communities decided to significantly expand and improve the structure of the Mergentheim synagogue . After being merged with the Jewish community of Mergentheim in 1832, the community belonged to the Mergentheim district rabbinate, which was established in the same year .

Of the Jewish people who were born in Neunkirchen or who lived in Neunkirchen for a long time, Karoline Strauss (* 1871) was verifiably killed during the Nazi era .
