Jaime Sifers (* 18th January 1983 in Stratford , Connecticut ) is a former American ice hockey player , who during his playing career 2002-2018 among other 37 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League on the Has contested the position of the defender . However, Sifers spent most of his career in the American Hockey League , where he played 693 games for a total of six different teams. There he celebrated his greatest career success in the service of the Lake Erie Monsters by winning the Calder Cup in 2016.

Sifers began his career as a hockey player in the National Collegiate Athletic Association , where he was active from 2002 to 2006 for the University of Vermont ice hockey team . Then he took the Toronto Maple Leafs under contract. Towards the end of the 2005/06 season, the defender made his professional ice hockey debut when he played two games for the Maple Leafs farm team , the Toronto Marlies , in the American Hockey League . In the following two seasons, the American was a regular with the Marlies and played all 160 regular season games. During the 2008-09 season , Sifers made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Maple Leafs. In the following season he went mostly for the Houston Eros in the AHL, but also completed some games for the Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League. In July 2010, the defensive player signed a contract with the Atlanta Thrashers as a free agent . For the 2010/11 season , Sifers was sent to the Chicago Wolves' farm team .

In May 2011, the right-handed shooter signed a contract for the 2011/12 season with Adler Mannheim in the German Ice Hockey League . After two more seasons in the Adler jersey, his current contract was terminated in March 2014 at the personal request of the American. Sifers returned to North America and joined the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League in the run-up to the 2014/15 season . After a year there, the Columbus Blue Jackets , the previous cooperation partner of the Falcons, signed him for two years, initially for the new farm team, the Lake Erie Monsters . With the Monsters he won the Calder Cup at the end of the 2015/16 season .

After three years in the organization of the Blue Jackets, in which he remained without NHL involvement, his contract was not extended, so Sifers joined the Utica Comets from the AHL in July 2017 . There he ended his active career in April 2018 at the age of 35.
