Jamie Greubel (* 9. November 1983 as Jamie Greubel in Princeton , New Jersey ) is an American Bobsportlerin .

Career

Jamie Greubel was born in Princeton (New Jersey) and grew up in Newtown ( Pennsylvania on). During her studies at Cornell University she was a member of the track and field selection and competed in heptathlon and pentathlon . She got into bobsleigh in 2007 through her team mate Ethan Albrecht-Carrie there .

In the 2008/09 season, Greubel started as a pusher for Phoebe Burns in the America's Cup , in which they won two races, and made her World Cup debut in Park City in February 2009 . In April 2009 she tried her hand at piloting for the first time and started together with her cousin Amy Greubel at the America's Cup in Lake Placid .

In November 2010 she achieved her first podium as a pilot at the America's Cup in Calgary together with Katie Stoever. At the team competition of Calgary she was then used for the first time as a pilot in the World Cup . In the following winters she started mainly in the North America and European Cups before she was able to establish herself in the World Cup from 2012. At the 2012 World Cup in La Plagne , she finished second with Emily Azevedo, making it onto the podium for the first time. In the final standings for the season, she finished tenth.

In the 2013/14 season , Greubel was among the top four in seven out of eight races and celebrated her first World Cup victory in Igls with pusher Lauryn Williams . In the overall standings, she finished third behind Kaillie Humphries and Elana Meyers . At the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi , she and Aja Evans also won the bronze medal behind Humphries and Meyers.

In the summer of 2014, Jamie Greubel married the German bobsleigh athlete Christian Poser and has since started under the name Jamie Greubel Poser. In the 2014/15 World Cup , she achieved second and four third places, but after a fall she remained without points in Königssee and finished sixth in the overall standings. At the 2015 Bobsleigh World Championships in Winterberg , she was fifth in the two-man bobsleigh and seventh in the team competition. In the 2015/16 season she celebrated further victories in the World Cup with Cherrelle Garrett in Winterberg and Lake Placid and at the end of the season finished second in the overall World Cup after six podiums in eight races. At the 2016 World Cup , she was fifth again in two and sixth in the team competition.
