Jarosław Różański (born August 29, 1976 in Nowy Targ ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Podhale Nowy Targ in the Ekstraliga since 2014 .

Career

Jarosław Różański began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Podhale Nowy Targ . For the club from his hometown, he made his debut in 1994 in the Polish Ekstraliga . In 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2007 he was Polish champions with the club and in 2004 and 2005 he was also a cup winner . He also won the multinational Interliga with Podhale in 2004 . After spending the 2009/10 season at league rivals Zagłębie Sosnowiec , he returned to his home club and played there until 2012, before moving to Aksam Unia Oświęcim after relegating the club to the I league , where he spent two years. In 2014, when his hometown club from Malopolska had meanwhile been promoted back to the Ekstraliga, he was drawn to Nowy Targ again, where he has played again since then.

International

For Poland, Różański initially participated in the junior division in the U18 European Championships in 1993 and 1994 . He played with the Polish U20 team at the Junior B World Cup in 1995 .

In the senior division he played with the Polish national team at the B-World Championships in 1996 and 1999 . After changing over to the current division system, he took part in the Division I World Championships in 2001 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 and 2010 . At the 2002 World Cup , he played in the top division. This was the last participation of the Poles, who had to relegate despite two victories in the relegation round against Italy and Japan , because according to the regulations at the time, a place in the top division was reserved for an East Asian team, at the highest level of the world championships. He was also on the ice at the qualifying tournaments for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
