Jayne Atkinson
Jayne Atkinson (born February 18, 1959 in Bournemouth , Hampshire ) is an American actress .
Life
Jayne Atkinson was born in Bournemouth , Hampshire , England and moved to the United States with her parents when she was nine years old. She grew up in Hollywood and Florida . After completing her acting education, she worked in various theaters.
Since 1986 she can be seen mainly on television. She had her first role as Lindley Gardner Eisenberg in the television series A Fateful Year . Occasionally, she also appeared in larger films. So she appeared in Free Willy - Call of Freedom and the sequel Free Willy 2 - Freedom in Peril as Annie Greenwood . For her performance in the TV movie Our House was at the Satellite Awards 2003 as Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or TV movie nominated.
In 2006 she was best known for her role as Karen Hayes in the real-time series 24 . Along with the 24 cast, she received a nomination for Best Acting Company for the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2007 . Atkinson held her role until 2007. Then she made several guest appearances in various television series . From 2007 to 2013 she appeared in a recurring role as Erin Strauss in the crime series Criminal Minds . In 2014 she returned in her old role for a guest appearance on the 200th episode of the series. From 2013 to 2018 she played US Secretary of State Catherine Durant in the political series House of Cards .
Atkinson is married to actor Michel Gill and has a son with him.
