Jean Sincere
Jean Sincere , also Jean Sincere Zambello , (born August 16, 1919 in Mount Vernon , New York - † April 3, 2013 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress with character roles in film, television and theater. In addition, she also worked as a voice actress.
Life
Jean Sincere was born in Mount Vernon, New York State, in 1919. After training as an actor, she made her Broadway debut in 1941 in Joseph Kesselring's Arsenic and Lace Cap . During the Second World War she joined the United Service Organizations (USO) and maintained the American troops.
In 1949 Jean turned successfully to television, starring in episodes of popular series. Her appearances in the new medium included The Philco Television Playhouse (1949), Lux Video Theater (1950–1951), Producers' Showcase (1957) and The Comedy Spot
In 1977 she was also seen in the cinema in Harold Prince's The Smile of a Midsummer Night .
Since the mid-1980s she played numerous roles in film and television. On screen she was seen in Fred Schepisi's romantic love comedy Roxanne with Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah in 1987 and in Paul Golding's horror thriller Pulse in 1988 . She also worked as a voice actress , including in Brad Bird's Pixar film The Incredibles in 2004, where she voiced Mrs. Hogenson. Her last role was in the Nickelodeon series iCarly in November 2012.
In 1949 she married Charles Carmine Zambello who died in 1992. The marriage resulted in two children, the daughter opera and theater director Francesca Zambello, the son of the antique dealer, Larry Zambello.
Sincere died on April 3, 2013 after a brief illness at the age of 93 in Los Angeles.
