Jesper Jespersen von Bahnson (born November 18, 1827 near Viborg , † August 26, 1909 ) was a Danish lieutenant general and minister of war .

Bahnson grew up on the Tårupgård i Fjends Herred estate, which his father Lorenz Bahnsen bought in 1823. He came to Copenhagen in 1844 for training purposes; In 1846 he began his officer training at the local military academy.

In 1849 and 1864 he participated as an officer in the defense of Fredericia. In 1879 he became a colonel and department head in the War Ministry.

As Minister of War (1884-1894) in the Estrup cabinet , he pushed ahead with the fortification of Copenhagen despite the Folketing voting against it , to which he belonged from 1887 to 1895. After his resignation he was lieutenant general and commanding general on Zealand until 1897 .
