Yevgeny Yuryevich Lukyanenko
Evgeni Jurjewitsch Lukyanenko ( Russian Евгений Юрьевич Лукьяненко ; English transcription Evgeniy Lukyanenko ; born January 23, 1985 in Slavyansk on the Kuban ) is a Russian pole vaulter . He became indoor world champion in 2008.
The athlete competing for Krasnodar VS jumped the 5-meter mark for the first time in 2003. It increased continuously and in 2006 reached 5.60 m. In 2007 he took part in the World Championships in Osaka , where he improved his personal best to 5.81 m, which put him in sixth place. At the World Indoor Championships in Valencia in 2008 , he crossed 5.90 m and won the title. At a meeting in Bydgoszcz in July 2008, he was the 16th jumper in the world to cross the 6-meter mark with 6.01 m. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 Lukjanenko jumped 5.85 m and won the silver medal behind the Australian Steve Hooker .
At a height of 1.90 m, his competition weight is 80 kg.
