Jochen Neupert

Jochen Neupert (born November 24, 1958 in Göttingen ; † April 12, 2015 in Mannheim ) was a German theater actor .

Life

Jochen Neupert initially trained as a bookseller . From 1982 to 1986 he completed his acting training at the University of the Arts in Berlin . He completed this with a diploma. Subsequently, he had festival and guest engagements at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt (1986–1988), the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen (1990–1994), the State Theater Braunschweig (1994–1997), the State Theater Wiesbaden (as a guest), the Nationaltheater Mannheim (as a guest) and in Hamburg .

Between 1997 and 2000 he was a guest several times, then from September 2000 to 2002 as a permanent member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Württemberg-Hohenzollern Tübingen Reutlingen . In 2002 he went to the State Theater in Karlsruhe ; there he was part of the permanent ensemble until 2011. He played there u. a. the Elven King Oberon in Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream; and Minister of State Richard Willey in Ray Cooney's play Out of Control . In 2005 he took over the role of Cleonte in Tartuffe in a new production by Klaus Hemmerle . In 2007 he appeared at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe in the play The modern death by Carl-Henning Wijkmark . In the 2008/09 season Neupert was the school inspector Luka Lukitsch Chlopow in The Auditor . At the beginning of 2009 he played Richard Harkin in the German premiere of the play Die Seefahrer by Irish playwright Conor McPherson at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe . In March 2009 he was the steward in a new production of the opera Ariadne auf Naxos at the Karlsruhe State Theater. In the 2010/11 season he took on the role of clerk Semjon Panteleevich Jepichodow in Anton Chekhov's play The Cherry Orchard at the Karlsruhe State Theater .

In the course of his career his stage roles included a. a. also George in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? , Werschinin in Three Sisters , Theseus / Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream , Bassa Selim in The Abduction from the Seraglio (October / November 2010 at the Karlsruhe State Theater) and Shlink in In the Thicket of Cities .

In 2006 he appeared in the title role of Schiller's play Wilhelm Tell at the Volksschauspiele Ötigheim . In 2012 he played the role of the choleric police superintendent Beizmenne in a stage version of the Heinrich Böll novel The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum by Margarethe von Trotta at the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen .

Neupert made several guest appearances at the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater . In 2012 he made his debut there as a schoolmaster in Christian Dietrich Grabbe's joke, satire, irony and deeper meaning ; he played him as a "schnapps addicted sadist". In 2013 he appeared there as Danton in Danton's death . He played the role of Danton "indomitable, charming and full of energy". In 2014 he appeared at the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater as King Claudius in Hamlet in a production by Johanna Schall and as Ferdinand, King of Navarre in Lost Love's Labor .

Neupert also worked as a reciter and speaker for arte.tv and other radio stations.

Neupert was in a relationship with the actress Stephanie Theiss . He leaves behind a grown daughter from a previous long-term marriage.
