Johann von Fargel (* 1601 in Reinsdorf , County Mansfeld ; † August 6, 1682 in Rückingen ) was a Brandenburg colonel , head of a regiment on foot, as well as governor of Reinstein Fortress and heir to Rückingen in County Hanau.

Life

From 1642 to 1644 he was the imperial lieutenant colonel in command of Haus Angerort . In the years 1655/1666 he became the manorial authority over the place Rückingen near Hanau . After the end of the Thirty Years' War, Fargel had acquired inheritance contracts from the owner families of Rüdigheim and von Rückingen . His son Johann Lukas also married Helena Albertina Catharina , daughter of Joachim Philipp von Rückingen , in 1670 .

Johann von Fargel became colonel in Brandenburg on December 16, 1665. So he recruited various companies . In 1669 he established three companies near Halberstadt and in 1675 an Esquadron Reiter in Berlin. In the same year he received the “Fargel on foot” regiment . He ceded the regiment in 1679 to Field Marshal Johann Georg von Anhalt .

Between 1665 and 1682 he took part in the Brandenburg campaigns against the Swedes and French. On February 26, 1670 he was raised to the nobility .

He was married to Amalie von Bachmann († August 26, 1684). She was the daughter of Adolf Bachmann, Landdinger zu Blanckenberg and Gertrud von Katterbach zu Dürresbach . Her sister Anna was married to Johann Wilhelm zu Neudorf called Ley . The couple had the following children:
