John Eaves

John Eaves (born April 8, 1953 ) is a Canadian skier and actor .

Life

In his active time as a skier , which lasted from 1974 to 1982, John Eaves was considered one of the best skiers in the world, which was also reflected in his sporting success. In addition to numerous other titles, Eaves was able to fight for six world championship titles between 1977 and 1980 alone . The freestyle skiing but made him known to the general public about the world of sports out by, after only two previous stunt appearances in James Bond films, 1981 in the James Bond film For Your Eyes again as a stunt double by Roger Moore in Cortina d'Ampezzo the bobsled run down on skis while the breakneck descent was filmed by cameraman , director and designer Willy Bogner . The legendary film scene also brought Eaves later collaborations with Bogner. The filming in Cortina was overshadowed by a sad event when another stuntman died while filming in the ice channel.

In 1985 a film role should follow, in which John Eaves also acted as an actor. Together with Suzy Chaffee , John Eaves played the leading role in Bogner's film Feuer und Eis , which was awarded the Bambi and Bavarian Film Prize, and in which he again shines with fantastic ski tunts. The commenting dubbing voice of John Eaves within the film was performed by singer John Denver in the English version and by Swiss cabaret artist Emil Steinberger in the German version . This was followed by other films, which were primarily about spectacular ski and snowboard stunts, including a. a. 1995 the film Jackie Chan's First Strike , in which Eaves jumps down a cliff with a snowboard and then finds hold on the runners of a helicopter in the air . In the film Top Speed , John Eaves finally moved behind the camera to act as cameraman for the scenes in the bobsled run. Eaves is still a passionate skier and from time to time posts videos about his work as a skier. John Eaves lives in Calgary, Canada .
