Jon Cypher

Jon Herbert Cypher (born January 13, 1932 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Cypher grew up in Brooklyn . He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling .

From the mid-1950s he worked as an actor and initially appeared in smaller television productions and in theater productions on Broadway . In the 1960s, roles in various Broadway productions followed. From 1977 he played in the television series Young and Passionate - As Life So plays the role of Alexander Keith . He was best known for his role of the selfish police chief Fletcher Daniels in the television series Hill Street Police Station , which he played in over 60 episodes from 1981 to 1987. In the 1980s he also had longer engagements in the television series Under the California Sun and The Denver Clan .

In 1987 he took on the role of Man-at-Arms in the science fiction film Masters of the Universe at the side of Dolph Lundgren and Chelsea Field .

In 1988 he was on the California Clan television series as Dr. See Arthur Donnelly . From 1990 he appeared in the series Major Dad . After that, he mostly took on guest roles in television series and finally retired from acting in 2004. In total he was seen in around 90 film and television productions.

Cypher is in second marriage to Dr. Carol Rosin, president of the Institute for Security and Cooperation in Outer Space. The marriage produced a daughter.
