Jonas Walter

Jonas Ludwig Walter (born November 11, 1984 in Kleinmachnow ) is a German photographer and film director .

biography

Walter 2007-2010 at the Ostkreuz School of Photography and Design at Werner and Ute Mahler Photography studied. Since 2013 he has also been studying film and television directing at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf , since 2018 as a master’s student with Andreas Kleinert . In 2016 Walter was a visiting student at the University of Havana . He is a scholarship holder of the Hans Böckler Foundation .

In 2010 Walter was accepted into the Focus agency and has since worked as a freelance photographer for Stern , Die Zeit , Süddeutsche Zeitung , NZZ , chrismon and Freitag, among others . He made advertising films for ver.di and Taschen- Verlag, and cinema spots for the state of Brandenburg as part of road safety campaigns. He regularly photographs the ensemble of the inclusive Berlin theater RambaZamba .

Walter lives in his hometown of Berlin and on the Baltic Sea, in the countryside near Wismar .
