Jean Patrick Jonathan Drack (born November 16, 1988 in Beau Bassin-Rose Hill ) is a Mauritian triple jumper who also competes in the long jump .

Athletic career

Jonathan Drack gained his first international experience at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow , where he was eliminated from the qualification with 15.54 m. In 2014 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow for the first time, reached the final there, but did not take part there. In 2015 he won the gold medal at the Indian Ocean Island Games in Saint-Denis and qualified again for the World Championships in Beijing , where he finished eleventh with 16.64 m in the final . In 2016 he took part in the World Indoor Championships in Portland , where he finished 13th with 16.04 m. At the African Championships in Durban , he finished fourth with 16.61 m and also qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was retired with 16.21 m in the qualification .

In 2017 he finished fifth at the Francophonie Games in Abidjan with 16.05 m. In 2018 he again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he finished sixth in the triple jump with 16.28 m and was eliminated from the qualification in the long jump with 7.37 m. Then he finished fifth in the triple jump at the African Championships in Asaba with 16.41 m. The following year he took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and won the bronze medal there with 16.53 m behind the Burkinabe Hugues Fabrice Zango and Yasser Triki from Algeria. In addition, he was eliminated in the long jump with 6.71 m in the qualification.

Drack was the flag bearer of Mauritius at the closing event of the 2016 Olympic Games.
