Justus Carrière (born May 16, 1956 in Schwerin ) is a German actor , theater director and acting teacher.

life and career

Justus Carrière comes from an artistic family, Mathieu Carrière is his cousin, Mareike Carrière was his cousin. He played his first film role in 1979 as Böckel in Lothar Warneke's film Addio, piccola mia ; previously he was already active as a voice actor. The following year he began studying at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin , which he completed in 1982. Since then he has appeared regularly in the theater and in television roles, and since 1989 also repeatedly in cinema roles.

Carrière played theater at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Zittau , the Kleist-Theater Frankfurt (Oder) , the Volksbühne Berlin , the Schlosstheater Celle , the Landesbühne Hannover and the Thalia-Theater in Hamburg . In 2000 he was part of the ensemble of Peter Stein's Faust project . In the cinema he had his best-known roles in Heiner Carow's The Missing , in the episode film Deutschland 09-13 short films on the state of the nation and in Christian Klandt's cosmopolitan city . In 1986 Carrière played one of the leading roles in the series Einzug ins Paradies des Ferns Fernsehen in the GDR . In 1991, he had a supporting role in the TV movie Big Band Time from the series Polizeiruf 110 . Between 1994 and 1998 he also starred in the television series In the Name of the Law . There are also guest roles in Tatort and series such as SOKO Wismar or Alisa - Follow your heart . So far, Carrière has embodied more than 50 roles.

In 1992 Carrière directed Johann Gottlieb Naumann's Cora , in 2007 he directed Shakespeare's Hamlet for the Potsdamer Theater Poetenpack , and in 2010 with Amphitryon by Heinrich von Kleist . Also in 2010 he staged Nocturnal Voices at the Neue Bühne Senftenberg . In addition, Carrière also takes care of the next generation. As an acting teacher he was active at several Berlin drama schools, in particular the Michael Chekhov Studio . Among other things, he looked after Marie Rönnebeck . He's also repeatedly involved in university productions. Carrière has a son and a daughter.
