Kąp is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural municipality of Miłki (Milken) in the Giżycki powiat ( Lötzen district ).

Cape located in the eastern center of the Warmia and Mazury seven kilometers southeast of the county seat Giżycko (Giżycko) .

history

It cannot be determined whether and to which German location before 1945 the settlement (osada) goes back. It could be a re-establishment after 1945. Nearby, but already in the area of Gmina Giżycko (rural community Lötzen ), there is another settlement Kąp ( German:  Kampen ) with the same name , but apart from the name, no relationship between the two places can be proven.

Kąp is part of the Schulzenamt ( Polish sołectwo ) Ruda (Ruhden , 1938 to 1945 iron works) within the rural community Miłki in the powiat Giżycki , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

The small place is in the Evangelical Parish Church Giżycko in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland and in the Catholic Parish Church Miłki . It maintains its own chapel in nearby Ruda and belongs to the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .
