The Duchač cabinet formed the first state government of the re-established state of Thuringia from 1990 to 1992 . As a result of the state elections on October 14, 1990 , the CDU top candidate Josef Duchač was elected Prime Minister of a coalition government composed of CDU and FDP on November 8, 1990 by the Thuringian state parliament , which had 53 of the 89 seats in the state parliament .
On January 23, 1992, Duchač resigned from office after three members of the government - the "Eastern reformers" Christine Lieberknecht and Klaus Zeh and the "Western access" Jochen Lengemann - had submitted their resignations. Following the election of the new Prime Minister Bernhard Vogel (CDU) on February 5, 1992, the other ministers also resigned from their offices in order to enable the formation of a new government. All ministers remained in office until the new Thuringian state government took office on February 11, 1992.
