The Kahlberg is 520.6  m above sea level. NHN high wooded mountain in the Fürth Zentwald in the area of ​​the core municipality of Fürth in the Bergstrasse district in the Hessian Odenwald .

The Kahlberg is a cornerstone of the Buntsandstein-Odenwald on the border with the Vorderen Odenwald to the northwest . The summit region forms a ridge almost one kilometer long, which has the shape of a quarter-turn arch with a curve pointing to the south-east and next to the main summit ( 520.6  m ) in the northern part 750 meters further south over an almost equally high secondary peak ( 520  m above sea level . NHN ). This southern summit forms the central watershed point in the Odenwald. This is where the water catchment areas of the Main , Neckar and Upper Rhine meet . The western slope of the summit ridge drains to the Weschnitz , the eastern slope to the Mümling , the southern end to the Ulfenbach , and the northern slope of the main summit overlooks the valley head of the Osterbach from the south , which rises here as the right source river of the Gersprenz .

Along the northern flank, the federal highway 460 known as Siegfriedstrasse climbs east to the Wegscheide , the transition into the Mümlingtal .

The closest localities are Weschnitz in the west, Erzbach in the north, Hiltersklingen in the south-east, Gras-Ellenbach in the south and Hammelbach in the south-west.
