Kaj E. Jensen

Kaj E. Jensen (born February 19, 1942 in Odense ; † November 29, 2016 ) was a former Danish cyclist and world champion.

In 1959, Kaj E. Jensen became Danish junior champion in the individual time trial . In 1962 he was amateur world champion in the single pursuit on the track in Milan ; in the team pursuit , he became vice world champion together with Kurt vid Stein , Preben Isaksson and Bent Hansen . In 1963 he became Danish champion in the pursuit and in 1965 in the team pursuit.

Before his success as a cyclist, Jensen worked as a grocery seller in his hometown of Odense. He was fired when he wanted a vacation to start a race. When he wanted to take part in the World Championships in Milan in 1962, he sold his television set in order to be able to afford a flight there.
