The canton Agen-Ouest was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Agen in the Lot-et-Garonne in the region of Aquitaine in France . Jean-Louis Matéos ( PRG ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Department from 2011 to 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then "District Agen". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Agen.

geography

The canton bordered the canton of Prayssas to the north and east , the cantons of Agen-Nord and Agen-Center to the east, the canton of Laplume to the south and the canton of Port-Sainte-Marie to the west .
