The canton Cancon was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement Villeneuve-sur-Lot in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region of Aquitaine .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Villeneuve". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Castillonnès , in the north-east on the canton Villeréal , in the east on the canton Monflanquin , in the south-east on the canton Villeneuve-sur-Lot-Nord , in the south on the canton Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot , to the west to the canton of Monclar and to the northwest to the canton of Lauzun in the arrondissement of Marmande .
