history
Archaeological finds prove the settlement of the municipality area since Roman times . During the Middle Ages and modern times , the parish bore the name of its church, Saint-Sulpice de Caillac. The term "Beauregard" appeared in the scriptures in the 18th century and subsequently replaced the original name. Similarly, "Boudy" replaced the name of the second parish, Sainte-Blaise des Monts. Both parishes were united before 1806. In 1968 the community received its current name. Between 1972 and 1979 Boudy-de-Beauregard was in the meantime incorporated into the neighboring community of Cancon together with Saint-Maurice-de-Lestapel .
Population development
After records began, the population rose to a peak of around 470 by the first half of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to around 205 inhabitants during short recovery phases by the 1950s, before a phase with intermittent strong growth began, which continues today.
